What is DYF DAY?

DYF DAY is a year long campaign to empower people affected by type 1 diabetes to show their support for the educational and supportive programs they love by creating their own fundraising efforts. Each year DYF celebrates our community’s success with a day of fun complete with a community walk through our “path of empowered people.”

This year’s event at Heather Farm Park was spectacular! We united families new and old for a day of fun and a little “camp magic.” We couldn’t have done it without the support of our community!

Close to 300 participants came out to celebrate DYF DAY from all over the San Francisco Bay, Sacramento and surrounding areas and through online fundraising and 3rd party events helping to raise over $75,000 for DYF We are so close to our yearly goal of $100,000!

There’s still time to win the GRAND PRIZE! Keep those fundraising efforts up because everyone who raises over $1,000 will get an entry to win an iPad 3! Chances of winning are very high! (winner will be selected on 9/1/2012)

If you haven’t already, here’s how to get involved:

  • Set up a personal fundraising page at www.firstgiving.com/dyf
  • Create your own event and register on FirstGiving

Once again, thank you so much to all the families that participated and all of those who couldn’t make it out but are supporting DYF. Our community wouldn’t thrive without you. Thank you!
